5. Using a spoon, scoop a heaping tablespoon of filling onto the center of each round. Fold the round in half, pressing the edges together to close. Use the tines of a fork to crimp the edges.
6. Bake for 20 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool completely.
7. Pour enough oil into a deep skillet or pot to fill it to a depth of at least 1 inch. Heat the oil to 375°F (190°C).
8. Working in batches, carefully place the cooled cannoli in the hot oil and fry for about 1 minute, until golden brown. Remove from the oil and place the cannoli on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
