Welcome to my cooking blog! Today I’m going to be sharing my delicious Bobotie recipe with you all.
Bobotie is a South African dish that is easy to make and very tasty. All you need is:
– 600g minced beef;
– 1 large onion, chopped;
– 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped;
– 2 tablespoons of curry powder;
– 3 tablespoons of chutney;
– 2 tablespoons lemon juice;
– 2 large eggs;
– 1/2 cup of milk;
– 1/4 cup of sultanas;
– 2 tablespoons of oil;
– 2 tablespoons slivered almonds;
– salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C.
2. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
3. Add the minced beef and onion to the pan and cook until the beef is browned.
4. Add the garlic, curry powder, chutney, sultanas and season with salt and pepper to taste.
5. Cook for a further 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Transfer the mixture to a greased ovenproof dish.
7. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk and lemon juice, then pour over the meat mixture.
8. Sprinkle the slivered almonds over the top of the Bobotie.
9. Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
10. Serve the Bobotie with steamed rice or vegetables.
