1. Drain the lentils and put them in a large pot. Add enough water to cover the lentils, and bring them to a boil.

2. When the lentils come to a boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, or until they are soft and cooked through.

3. In a separate pan, heat the ghee and add the cumin seeds. Fry for a few seconds until fragrant, then add the garlic paste, chilli powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala. Fry for a few more seconds, stirring constantly to avoid burning.

4. Add the tomato puree to the mixture and bring it to a simmer. Add the cooked lentils and the fenugreek leaves and mix everything together.

5. Simmer for 15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency. Add salt to taste.

6. Just before serving, stir in the cream and chopped cilantro and turn off the heat.
